In our school/district, we do all we can to support our students in achieving a successful learning outcome. However, for students who do not pass a class, we rely on credit recovery courses, serviced by a national provider. We are looking for a better option that is truly standards-based and aligned to the level of rigor demanded on state assessments.

Our curriculum strategist will work with your teachers to take the curriculum they use in class and develop an online credit recovery course using the LMS of your choice. The good news is that these courses can also be used as intervention for students that need to improve their performance on state assessments.

We have a technology-rich learning environment for students. Our teachers have various comfort-levels with technology. We are looking for a differentiated tool that is aligned to OTES that can meet each teacher where they are at with tech integration in the classroom.

We have practical tools available to challenge each teacher to grow individually in the OTES rubric category of their need. These tools help to demonstrate how a teacher can integrate tech in the classroom in developing, skilled, and accomplished categories. Developing tech skills necessary to prepare for AIR testing.
Our teachers are dedicated to preparing students for AIR testing. However, there are limited resources on the Ohio Department of Education’s website for students to use to develop the tech skills necessary to prepare for AIR testing.
NextStep Solution
While the NextStep team is not affiliated with AIR, we can work with your teachers to develop strategies to get your students comfortable with skills such as typing, using text-to-speech, equation editor, double-scroll, digital highlighting, digital annotation, etc. We understand that although students are often surrounded by technology, they are not always adept at using it in an academic context.
